Ok, come on. An earthquake in Chicago? Thirty six inches of snow in Washington DC? More snow there than in Colorado? This has to mean something, but what?
They shut the Federal Government down yesterday, ostensibly because of the snow. A friend was there and told me. “The Federal Government is closed today, and maybe tomorrow.” It’s almost like the Federal Government is a person, or a place, or what? I decided it was a good idea. The Federal Government needs a time out. Everyone is getting way too stupid. When the spokesperson for the President makes fun of news commentator Sarah Palin (that is what she is now, right?) by writing on his hand and showing it at a press conference, it’s time for a time out. What was he thinking? I don’t want my President’s spokesperson doing things like that. The campaign is over guys. You won. Get to work and quit watching the news. Better yet, get out of the big white prison and see for yourself what is happening.
Then Chicago is rumbling at 3.8 on the rictor scale. What the hell is that? It’s like that great line by Tom Hanks, “There is no crying in baseball!” There are no earthquakes in the mid west! Yikes, what’s next? Tornadoes in Maine? Or New York City? What is this all about? I thought earthquakes were all about land near water, and faults underneath them? Silly me.
And, meanwhile, I am still sitting in LA where today it will be sixty and sunny, yet again. Ok, there have been mud slides from all the rain, but they haven’t gotten to Westwood where I live yet. I assume that you know if you live on the bottom of a mud slide right? Why would you do that? Maybe you don’t know when you live near one. Whatever.
Mud slides. Snow. Earthquakes in unusual places. The Gods must be angry. I say we give them a sacrificial lamb. I’m thinking of a few politicians. Oh, maybe all politicians? Then we can start all over again.

There are actually many fault lines all over the country. There is a major fault line, that I belives runs under NYC, and they say eventally they may have a large earthquake. I think?? I actually took a class on earthquakes in college, a whole class. YOu should see if the still offer it and take it, it was very interesting but extremely difficult.
